At The Top We feature students from throughout our student body that have distinguished themselves with outstanding academic achievement or through participation in school or non-school activities. The students that are shown here a just a few of the many quality young people that make up our Central Hinds Academy student body. STAR Student 2007-2008 Ellis McNair is the 2007-2008 STAR student. Ellis had the highest ACT score as well as the hightest GPA in the senior class. Ellis has chosen English teacher Ann Gordon as the STAR Teacher. This is Mrs. Gordon's 12th year to receive the honor. She is in the Mississippi STAR Teacher Hall of Fame. Congratulations to Ellis and Mrs. Gordon.   WAPT Scholar Athlete 2007-2008 Senior Thea Dixon has been chosen as this year's WAPT Scholar Athlete. Thea has played sports since 7th grade. She received the Cougar Award in cheerleading and was Co-Caption of the 1st place winning squad. Thea also received the All-Star Award in soccer. Thea is an honor student with a 3.8 GPA. Congratulations Thea.   2008 LOTT Leadership Camp 8th Grader Jordan Currie has been accepted to the Trent Lott Leadership Camp at Ole Miss this summer.
