Student Organizations


Advisory Committee
Students are appointed to this committee by the headmaster and meet with him/her during the school year to discuss and make recommendations with regard to policies and procedures at CHA. (7-12)

Annual Staff
Students perform the task of putting together the school yearbook. Students plan the yearbook and prepare it for distribution to parents, students, and patrons. Students also sell ads to help offset the cost of publishing.(7-12)

BETA
Invitations are issued for membership into this national honor society by maintaining a grade point average of three, on a four-point scale. Students must maintain a three point average for the entire length of their membership. Membership is restricted to secondary students.(7-12)

Computer Club
This club allows students to pursue interests in computer and related skills. Students in this club should have a working knowledge of computers prior to gaining membership in this club.(7-12)

Fellowship of Christian Athletes
Membership in this organization is open to athletes or non-athletes that seek support for their Christian beliefs and principles. The club will sponsor and conduct Christian programs that enhance and reinforce Christian ideals.(7-12)

Honor Society

Paper Staff
The paper staff will be responsible for the publishing of the school paper. They must carry the paper through the stages necessary for its completion. Students will write articles, gather material, and distribute to the student body.(7-12)

Quiz Bowl
Students are chosen by the sponsor of this organization to participate in academic competitions.(9-12)

Science Fiction Club
This club will guide students through studies of various science fiction works and their impact on society.(7-12)

Student Council
Students run for these offices when various criteria are met.
They are elected to serve by the student body and work with the school administration to provide a voice for students into the operation of Central Hinds Academy. The student council is the student government where students communicate with their teachers and principals on a variety of issues.(7-12)

Community Service Club
The community service club is dedicated to seeking out and participating in service projects here at CHA and throughout the area. Students here will work directly with the Director of Community Service, Stacy King. This club presents an excellent opportunity for students to build a sevice resume.
